Using up Designer Paper Scraps
In this day and age, with the economic situation the way it is, we all like to get our money's worth out of our purchases. I tend to be very frugal, and that spills over into my paper crafting projects. Recently I held a customer class where I shared many creative ways to use those small leftover scraps of designer craft paper that many of us have a hard time parting with. Here are some of the ideas I shared.
Create your own embellishments, letters and die cuts. One thing I like to do is to randomly glue paper scraps on a 4 x 5 inch piece of card stock, making sure the paper scrap edges butt up to one another and cover the base paper. Once the base card stock is completely covered, use this piece to make die cuts, embellishments or letters. Each resulting piece will be unique, and look like a patchwork.
Use them for paper piecing. Stamp an image onto a piece of card stock. Stamp this same image onto the scrap of pattern paper and cut out just part of the image to attach to the first stamped image. (For instance, on an image of a bear wearing a shirt, stamp the original image onto a piece of light brown card stock. Stamp the image a second time onto a piece of scrap pattern paper. Cut the shirt out of the pattern paper and attach onto the first bear, using the stamped image of the shirt for proper placement.)
Use them to create a mosaic pattern. I discovered this technique when I had some tiny, half-inch or so designer paper pieces that were "just too good to throw out." I randomly attached the pieces onto a 4 x 5 inch piece of card stock and used my Top Note die to cut out a shape. I used both the cut out and the leftover frame to create two cards that had a very unique look. You can view them here http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1514768?&cat=500&ppuser=118991 and here http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1514765?&cat=500&ppuser=118991
One thing that I like to do is to group my paper scraps together in baggies by Designer Paper set, that way I know that those particular scraps will match and look good when used together.
I hope that these ideas will give you reason to start saving those paper scraps and really get your money's worth from the crafting products that you purchase! For more rubber stamping and card ideas, visit my blog: www.beebugcreations.com

5 Even More South LA Springer Episodes? Is this typical of Democrats Nationwide?
We do State Safety Inspections, Emission Testing and Windshield Repair...Customers pull in and hand me their papers and money, then I pull the vehicle in for inspection...A while back this super Libbie Chickie came in, she was flaming, tatoos and about 20 visible piecings...She was in one of the old WV Beetles from the 1970's, it had peace sign seat covers, peace sign floor mats, the whole works...I failed her for very bad tires that were about 20 years old, while she was arguing with me about it(like a little kid)one of the back tires actually "BLEW OUT" while the car was sitting there! Another True Vermin Story! Is this typical of Democrats Nationwide? These Democrats drive the most unsafe, unmaintained vehicles you can imagine...This is but one more way they are dangerous and bad for America, they think the world revolves around them...Who else see examples of this on a daily basis?

The Paper $10.44 Director Ron Howard's drama follows a beleaguered reporter during a hectic 24 hours at a New York City tabloid. Michael Keaton stars as Henry Hackett, a metro editor for the struggling New York Sun. Hackett is being wooed by the Sentinel, a more upscale paper, but he's addicted to the adrenaline-stimulating, breakneck pace of the Sun's newsroom, much to the consternation of his pregnant wife Martha (Marisa Tomei. Hackett is currently pursuing a story of two minority youths who have been arrested for the murders of two men. He learns that the police think that the killings may be a mob hit. In the court of public opinion, however, the innocent suspects are being judged as guilty, and the police may bow to the pressure. As Hackett and his staff desperately work all the story's angles to find the truth, several other dramas unfold. Top editor Bernie (Robert Duvall) learns that he has prostate cancer, and tough publisher Alicia (Glenn Close) wonders if her lack of popularity is due to her cost-cutting, her personality, or the fact that she's a woman. In their only collaboration, screenwriter David Koepp co-wrote the script with his brother Stephen Koepp, a senior editor at Time magazine. ~ Karl Williams, Rovi |
Make Nice Handcrafts With Coloured Tissue Paper
Coloured tissue paper is used in so many ways. One can easily understand that this simple tissue paper is already part of our regular lifestyle. We use it as an alternative to handkerchief. Tissue paper can also be used to decorate things. In this article one can find some funny uses of painted tissue paper.
It's a rainy day and you are bored. As a fun activity you can make a nice show piece with household materials. Check out the house for anything that is useful. Commonly napkins with various coloursand lampshade can be easily found on any house. Why not use these simple materials to make a masterpiece?
To turn a simple lampshade into a master piece all you need is a napkin of your choice of colour, a scissor, a paint brush, a bowl, glue and normal white paper. Firstly, cover the lampshade using glue with white paper. Let it dry for 10 minutes. After drying the lampshade cut the tissue paper intorandom sizes and shapes. Store the pieces of napkins in the bowl. Then pour glue on the lampshade which is covered with white paper with the paint brush. Then attach the pieces of tissue paper randomlyand cover the entire shade. Let it dry for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes pour some more glue onto all of the pieces of the napkin. Leave it for 10 minutes more to dry. After 10-20 minutes you will get a whole new lampshade. At night while the lampshade is switched on you will see the real beauty of it. The lampshade will look luxurious and beautiful.
One can use napkins of different colours to make some other handcrafts too. Collect as many napkins as you can. Try to get various colours to make the handcraft colourful. We are going to make colourful flowers with tissue paper. Cut four or eight pieces of tissue paper with different colours. Use glue and hard paper to attach the bottom of the tissue papers in a single paper. Leave it for 10 minutes to dry. Now get the top of a tissue paper and attach the top with the bottom with glue. Do the same for all other tops of tissue paper. Leave it for 10 minutes to dry. Now use a pencil or straw to attach with it. It will complete the flower.
One can make such nice handcrafts by using simple coloured tissue paper. But remember that this napkin has to be strong to make such crafts and that's why use tissue papers of well reputed manufacturers.
